Throughout her career as a professional chef Mishy has witnessed first-hand the incredible amount of wastage in the food industry.
Each year, 78 million metric tons of plastic packaging is produced worldwide – 60% of which is food packaging. Typically, only 14% of this is recycled, so its lasting impact to the environment is massive.
Finding it hard to reconcile her passion for good eating with her love of mother nature, Mishy set about ensuring that her Naturally Sauced flavours not only taste great, but do their bit for the planet in the process.
We do this on two fronts: in how we source our ingredients and then how we ship our sauces!
We’re serious about our role in reducing wastage that’s why we’ve left no stone unturned in guaranteeing our good food gets to you in packaging that’s good to the environment.
Whether you’re picking up a recyclable glass jar of Pretty Miso or grabbing a compostable pouch of our Hearty Harrisa, you can rest assured that our easy-to-recognise, bright and bubbly Naturally Sauced labelling is also totally biodegradable.
Our Glass Jars
One of the best ways we can reduce our environmental impact is to simply make things go further.
Single-use packaging is one of the biggest problems in food supply, so we looked to the humble mason jar to safely carry these scrumptious condiments from our kitchen to yours…. And beyond!
Not only are these vessels airtight, robust, infinitely reusable and food friendly – they’re refillable and their potential for use beyond the kitchen is huge.
When you get to the bottom of the jar, we recommend rinsing it out and refilling it with more of your favourite Naturally Sauced flavours, straight from one of our compostable vacuum sealed bags!

We’re thrilled to be partnering with a leader in the field of compostable food-safe packaging, Ikon Pack. These guys pioneered the first certified compostable vacuum sealed food packaging in Australia!
Every time you buy a pouch of Naturally Sauced goodness, you’re taking it home in a vacuum sealed, food safe carrier that will break down in your garden or worm farm leaving no trace plastics.
Each 180g bag of our Sauces and Condiments is decants perfectly into your old Naturally Sauced glass jar and here’s the kicker – it even costs less! What’s not to love about that?!
Naturally Sauced uses sustainable labels on our products to reduce our environmental footprint. The labels are manufactured from renewable plant materials, such as corn, and are matched with a certified compostable adhesive. The inks used to print the labels have also been certified for compostable packaging.
If you have home composting, simply pop it in there! Otherwise, if you pop it in the bin, it will breakdown over time in regular landfill.
In our effort to be carbon positive we have chosen WOOLPACK to keep your delivery cold and fresh for up to 6 hours, which means that you don’t have to wait by the door for our delivery.
WOOLPACK is proudly manufactured in Australia and New Zealand by Planet Protector Packaging. It is the first viable alternative to polystyrene and other unsustainable insulated packaging solutions that not only thermally outperforms them but is also environmentally responsible!

The wool used is considered “waste” from wool mills so it has the added benefits of helping to reduce landfill and giving a greater yield to Australian and New Zealand sheep farmers.
